Crystal Wolf has built a distinguished career as a consultant specializing in the public sector. Known for her expertise in implementing new government programs, resolving critical audit issues, and ensuring sound financial management to minimize risks, Crystal's dedication promotes the integrity of large federal programs.
Crystal holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 2007 and 2006, respectively. She is also a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Internal Controls Auditor, and Certified Grants Management Specialist.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Crystal is deeply engaged in industry organizations. She has been an active member of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) for more than 15 years, serving on the DC Chapter Board since 2008 and currently holding the role of Chapter President. Beyond AGA, she is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Grants Management Association, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and American Mensa—a reflection of her commitment to continuous learning and advancing the profession.
Mr. Baskin is the Chief Financial Officer for Akela LLC. Prior to this role, he was the Founder and CEO of Baskin Consulting, LLC, where he specialized in helping clients eliminate waste, streamline operations, and drive efficiencies through automation and process re-engineering. His career has been dedicated to working at the intersection of commercial and federal markets, implementing change and maximizing return on investment.
Previously, Mr. Baskin served as a Director in Guidehouse’s Federal Financial Services (formerly PwC Public Sector) practice, where he spent more than 13 years supporting U.S. government and private sector clients. His expertise includes transforming internal control programs to leverage real-time data for better decision-making, as well as leading business process improvements and large-scale transformation efforts. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA), and currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the AGA DC Chapter.
Ms. Mahaffey's career has been driven by her passion for helping others and fostering personal growth. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Indiana University South Bend and has built a strong foundation in nurturing individual development and cultivating positive organizational culture.
Throughout her career, Sara has established herself as a leader in marketing, employee development, and corporate culture. She is a dynamic facilitator with certifications from Korn Ferry and Franklin Covey, and is known for creating environments where people thrive. She has a proven track record of designing award-winning programs for employee engagement and development, including recognition with Rexford’s 2021 Edison Innovation Award and CREW’s 2023 Philanthropy Award.
Sara is also an active member and dedicated volunteer with the AGA DC Chapter, where she contributes her time and marketing expertise to advancing the profession and supporting the government financial management community.
